New Old Polygon
Just as the invention of the camera challenged painting, and the development of 3D animation transformed the role of puppetry, New Old Polygon explores new meanings and possibilities for 3D animation production in the age of AI generated images. The project was developed through a participatory workshop with ten participants. Drawing on their own memories and personal experiences, the participants collaboratively created the animation's script and used VR sculpting to build the main characters and props that appear in the film. During the animation process, the project collaborated with dancers. After reading the completed story, the dancers interpreted it through movement, and their performances were captured using motion capture technology. These movements were then applied to the characters created through 3D sculpting, bringing them to life.
